Our History
Ken and Barbara Hummel sold the Southwestern gift shop, Old Town Emporium, located in Albuquerque, NM, in April, 2003 after owning it for almost seven years.
At the urging of many of the loyal customers that visited our shop and our web site, we agreed to keep this web site so that they could continue to find the many unique high quality products and the type of service they had come to expect from us over the years. We have been on the web since Feb, 2000.
Please browse our site and join our ever expanding list of satisfied customers.
We have been closely associated with the New Mexico "Trail of Painted Ponies" project from the beginning. In fact, in 2002, we partnered with the organizers of the project to produce and distribute t-shirts, hats, totes and magnets for "The Trail of Painted Ponies" and "Year of the Horse 2002" events.
As owners of Old Town Emporium at the time, we sponsored a life-size hand painted pony for each of the two years of the "Trail of Painted Ponies" project. We continued to support the artists of the "trail" by offering signed and numbered versions of some of the miniature ponies. Unfortunately, we can no longer do this as the "Trail" is now using our concept without our consent.
Our Philosophy Our motto has always been "Check Our Prices BEFORE You Buy". We believe we offer the best prices of any shop on the web. In addition, we pride ourselves on our timely and friendly customer service. Almost all orders are shipped the next business day. If there is any problem, we WILL contact you and resolve it!
